$(cpicName) Help - Offline Volumes
Offline Volumes allow you to locate files on disks without having to put each disk in your computer.

After you have viewed any removable disk, will store a listing of the contents on that disk under Offline Volumes. Now you can look for files or perform searches on these disks at any time - without constantly switching disks.

Working With Offline Volumes Offline Volumes are automatically created for each disk sees in your computer. When you remove a disk, moves that file listing into a folder under Offline Volumes in the Folder List and labels it with the name of that disk.

To view the contents of any Offline Volume, simply click that volume's entry under Offline Volumes. The contents of that disk will be shown in the File List. Normally, all files will be shown without thumbnails. If you have opted to save thumbnails (by setting that option in the Preferences), thumbnails will be displayed for the files in the selected Offline Volume.

If you locate a file that you would like to view, you must place that disk in your drive, and select the appropriate drive under My Computer. Offline Volumes does not store the contents of the disks - only an index as to what is on them. You must insert and select the disk to view the files.

Removing Offline Volumes To remove an Offline Volume, highlight that Volume in the Folder List, and select Remove Folder from the File menu.

Searching Offline Volumes You may search an Offline Volume like you would any other folder on your computer. Select the Offline Volume or a folder in an Offline Volume to search. Choose Find... from the Edit menu. Remember - to view the files you find in Offline Volumes, you must insert the disk and select the appropriate drive.
