Basic Commands

There are a few simple commands you can use within GNU Backgammon to display information you might need to know:

help [command]
? [command]
Describe the commands that @gnubg{} understands. help by itself lists the main commands with a one-line description of each; when command is specified, that command is explained in more detail, and if it has any subcommands then they are listed in brief. ? is a synonym for help.
show copying
show warranty
These commands are used to show the conditions GNU Backgammon is distributed under (the GNU General Public License). Essentially, there is no warranty for @gnubg{}, and everybody is free to use, inspect, copy, modify and distribute it. You are permitted to do just about anything with @gnubg{}, except deny these freedoms to others. For a precise description of your rights and obligations, please use the show copying and show warranty commands, or see the file `COPYING' in the @gnubg{} distribution (the contents are identical).
